OUR MISSION
IS TO INSPIRE RICHMOND CITY’S MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS TO ENGAGE IN THEIR COMMUNITY, EXCEL IN THEIR EDUCATION AND EXCEED THEIR EXPECTATIONS THROUGH THE CULTURE OF ROCK CLIMBING.
OUR PROGRAMS
The HOMEROOM ROCKS program focuses primarily on team building and self motivation activities to encourage responsibility and awareness of the role each student can play in their classroom and community. This is an entry-level rock climbing program that introduces the fundamentals of rock climbing led by Seth Henshaw and our amazing belay certified RISE volunteers.
In an effort to continue to build and foster positive relationships with students in our Homeroom Rocks program, we offer BELAY FRIDAY, an after school program that occurs on the 2nd and 4th Friday of each month throughout the year. Students who have participated in Homeroom Rocks are eligible to apply for this program.

If you are connected to a local community service organization or a Richmond business and looking for an opportunity to give back to your community, bring your team to volunteer with us for two hours and expierence something truly life changing!

Our programs are entirely dependent on the community’s commitment to the RISE RVA mission. We are looking to make a difference in Richmond’s youth through the culture of rock climbing and we invite you to be apart of that dream. Not only is RISE RVA committed to giving 2,000 students a chance to climb for FREE by the end of 2020, we are also providing lunches for each one of them.
